Ok, so I am relatively certain that this could end up on a post here.
We have been obsessed with watching The Food Network lately, especially Challenge, and Ace of Cakes. So I figured hey that looks like something I would like to learn.
Of course I don't do something smart like enroll in a class,
NOOOOO!
I have to try to do it myself.
The first two attempt at this were not very successful.
This is actually my third.
The first was edible but not very pretty and my second had the consistency of cardboard...
that would be because I wrapped a box in fondant.
No we did not attempt to eat it!
This is the first one I am willing to take a picture of and own up to making myself. It looked a little to plain so I added some "embellishment". I know cheesy but hey our anniversary is coming up so I figured why not.
So here is the finished result.

But you see it can't end up on Cake Wrecks because there are no misspellings, crazy brown colored swirls that look like poo, or other generally mistaken items on top. It doesn't qualify....yet :) Good job on your first (ahem 3rd) attempt!
What initials are they? Somehow I missed that.
What a fun design & that's awesome that you're re-creating without lessons. I've never been good at that kind of creativity & envy people who are! And can I just share what we were told when I did take cake decorating lessons . . . "If anyone says something bad about how it turns out, they don't get to eat any!" I say that a lot when I'm decorating cakes!
The initials are S's because that is what both of our names start with. There are also little 16's on there because our 16th anniversary is on friday... dumb huh!
I think that for your first attempt it looks pretty darn good.
I'm impressed, better than I can do! Keep up the good work.
Honey, your first attempt is something I couldn't create if I worked at it for years! Well done!
I think it's a fabulous 3rd try!! And a cake would really last until Friday? At my house it would have been long gone!!
